Mikayla Bass
Mikayla Bass and her family have lived in Pulaski County for a little over a year, having purchased their first home in Winamac in February 2024. She lives here with her husband, daughter, and son. Inspired by her mother Sharon and aunt's careers in childcare, she developed a lifelong passion for working with kids, finding joy in their growth and the small moments of kindness they bring. With nearly 20 years of experience in childcare, her professional background includes working as an infanttoddler lead teacher, preschool teacher, and at a developmental childcare facility for two years. Most recently, she served as a preschool teacher at the Winamac Early Learning Academy for six months. Mikayla appreciates the strong sense of community in Pulaski County, where neighbors are always willing to lend a hand, and everyone seems to know one another. Mikayla is dedicated to giving back and helping others whenever she can. She envisions a future for childcare in Pulaski County that includes licensed, affordable and safe environments provided by well-trained educators; supported by strong community partnerships. She hopes to contribute to this vision with the success of Caterpillar Corner.
